Ok, maybe you don't need to go out and actually see a Kindle for whatever reason. Let me put you in touch with Kindle owners over the internet:
Try the Amazon Kindle Forum. It's an honest place to hear honest talk about the Kindle. You may find posts and responses like this from M.Jacobs in Georgia:
"I'm ashamed to admit this but I love my Kindle so much that I have actually purchased books to read on the Kindle even though I already have them on my shelf. I can't carry my bookshelf with me but I've always got my Kindle."
How about the MobileRead forums . Lot's of great info here including info on downloading ebooks for your Kindle. You might stumble upon this message from MobileRead forum member Honeybunny from Indiana:
" I live and work in a very heavily Amish area. I was eating lunch in the local 'country' sit-down restaurant, reading my Kindle. One of the Amish waitresses came up and said "Ooooh! Is that one of those Kindle book things??" "
You are never far from discussing and learning about the Kindle!
